5th Band
  • Continue with Concert Bb Scale
  • Rehearse Power Rock and Creepy Crawlies
  • Read through Companions in the Quest

6th Band

  • Continue Concert Bb, Eb, F, Ab, and Chromatic Scales
  • Rehearse Forward March and The Tempest
  • Possibly distribute some new music

7/8th Band

  • Continue Concert and Chromatic Scales
  • Rehearse The Pink Panther and Forrest Gump preparing for next week's concert
  • Possibly rehearse Jefferson County Overture working for speed
  • Possibly distribute new music

HS

  • Extra Rehearsal Tuesday (March 2) 3:30-5
  • Continue to refine musical aspects of all concert pieces
  • Begin rehearsing with videos
  • Focus on watching the conductor at transitions and for musical interpretation on all pieces
  • ONE WEEK LEFT TO THE POPS CONCERT!

5th Band
  • Continue work with Concert Bb Scale
  • Begin rehearsing Creepy Crawlies, Companions in the Quest, and Power Rock working for full runs of each piece
  • Continue encouraging students to work on their solos

6th Band

  • Continue work with Concert Bb, Eb, F, Ab, and Chromatic Scales
  • Rehearse Forward March, focusing on tied rhythms and counting
  • Rehearse The Tempest, focusing on trumpet melody areas and increasing the tempo
  • Continue encouraging students to work on their solos

7/8th Band

  • Continue work with Concert C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, G, D, A, and Chromatic Scales
  • Rehearse The Pink Panther, focusing on accurate triplet figures and articulations
  • Rehearse Forrest Gump, focusing on accurate dynamics and intonation

  • Rehearse Forward March, focusing on 23-End and reworking the opening rhythms

  • Read through The Tempest and begin rehearsing

7/8th Band

  • Rehearse C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, G, D, A, and Chromatic Scales
  • Rehearse Forrest Gump focusing on Dynamics and Blend
  • Rehearse The Pink Panther focusing on Articulations and Swing Counting

HS

  • John Williams in Concert focus on transition areas and dynamics primarily. Also work on upper woodwind sixteenth passages and counting in general.
  • Disney Blockbusters continue with full runs of the piece isolating correct percussion parts, and spending additional time with the swing passages in Friend Like Me.
  • Navy Hymn foucs on clarinet parts at letter B and overall intonation and note accuracy.
