Feb. 20-24 Happenings

5th Band

Objectives:

  • Continue weekly lessons
  • Continue rehearsal of full page songs
  • Continue working on full Concert Bb and Chromatic Scales
  1. Warm-Up
    • Tone Builder and Rhythm Etude on Pg. 12
    • Pg. 28 EE Bb Scale
      • Have students look up new notes and fingerings
      • Work with clarinets on the register key
    • Continue work on Chromatic from Bb to G
  2. Music Rehearsal

      • Refresh on repeats and first and second endings

6th Grade Band

7/8th Grade Band


Objectives:

    • Wizard of Oz
      • Perform full runs
      • Continue with trombone on short solo section
      • Continue with articulations and reinforcing dynamics throughout
      • Continue work on transitions between sections
    • Great Locomotive Chase
      • Isolate sections with woodwind runs
      • Work with percussion on rhythms and tempi
      • Begin incorporating articulations
HS Band

Objectives:

  • Continue working on Scales
  • Continue rehearsal for Pops Concert
  • Select solos and arrange reading for saxes and clarinets
  • Begin pit rehearsal on Sunday in Terril
